A Sweet & Savory Favorite: Easy Maple-Glazed Salmon
There’s something comforting about a recipe that’s both simple and unforgettable. This maple-glazed salmon is one of those meals in my home. It only takes a few pantry staples and about 30 minutes from start to finish. The result? A tender, flavorful piece of salmon with the perfect balance of sweetness and salt.
If you’re trying to eat more fish but want something that doesn’t taste too “fishy,” this recipe might just win you over.
π What You’ll Need
This recipe serves 4 people. Feel free to double it for more guests or leftovers.
Ingredients:
-
1 lb of salmon fillet (skin on or off, your choice)
-
1 clove of fresh garlic, minced
-
¼ cup pure maple syrup (real maple syrup makes a big difference)
-
2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
-
¼ teaspoon garlic salt
-
A pinch of ground black pepper
π©π³ How to Make It
-
Make the glaze.
In a small bowl, combine the maple syrup, soy sauce, garlic, garlic salt, and pepper. Stir until everything is well mixed. -
Marinate the salmon.
Place your salmon fillet in a shallow glass dish or container. Pour the maple mixture over the top and turn the salmon once to coat. Cover and place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes, flipping the salmon halfway through if you can. -
Bake to perfection.
Preheat your oven to 400°F (204°C). Once the oven is hot, remove the cover from the salmon and place the dish directly on the center rack. Bake uncovered for about 20 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork. -
Serve and enjoy.
This salmon goes beautifully with a side of rice, quinoa, roasted vegetables, or a crisp green salad. Leftovers are great the next day for lunch over a salad or tucked into a wrap.
π½️ Kitchen Tips
-
Don’t skip the marinating. Even 30 minutes makes a huge difference in how the flavors soak into the fish.
-
Line your dish with foil or parchment paper if you want easier cleanup.
-
If you’re cooking skin-on salmon, bake it skin-side down so the flesh absorbs more of the glaze.
-
Want to grill it instead? Wrap the marinated salmon in foil and grill over medium heat for about the same time.
-
For extra glaze, reserve a small amount of the marinade before adding it to the raw salmon, and brush it on in the last five minutes of baking.

π Final Thoughts
This is one of those dishes I turn to when I want something that feels special but doesn’t take a ton of effort. The maple glaze adds just enough sweetness to make it unique, while the soy sauce and garlic balance it with a little savoriness.
